Twenty-six of the best photographers in the Modesto area will be selected to exhibit samples of their best work at Mistlin Gallery during February of 2019. Each photographer will be given space to display from 2 to 6 images, depending on size, which they feel best represents their photography in general or a specific project that they would like to promote. The photographers, as well as their work will be the focus of the show, so think about what you want to say about yourself and your work – you’ll be asked.

 

Entry Requirements

To be considered for an invitation please remit jpg files of the exact images that would make up your part of the show. Include the size of the photos to be exhibited. Do not send a general portfolio.  It will not be accepted.  We will not choose individual images. Selection will be based on the body of work submitted. Please label each image with your name and title of the work, e.g., DavidSchroeder_Tower of Power_01.jpg. Also, please size your submission files to 1,200 dpi on the long side.

 

Size Requirements

Each selected photographer will be given space to hang 6 small images (11x14 or 12x18), 4 medium images (16x20 or 16x24), or two large images (20x30 or 24x36), or a combination thereof, which fits in the same space. (Sizes given are image sizes. It is assumed that framed and matted exhibit pieces will be a bit larger. Unframed metal and acrylic pieces are acceptable, assuming they can be hung on Mistlin’s wire system.)

 

Entry Fee $40 (Due at time of entry)

This fee covers all of your entries, whether 2 or 6 images. There will be no additional hanging fees at the gallery. Entry fees may be paid on line via PayPal on our web site www.fotomodesto.com, or make out checks to Focus On … and send to David Schroeder, 1121 Westmont Terrace, Modesto, 95350

 

Dates

Entries will be accepted between October 1, and November 30, 2018. Do not send entries before October 1st. Accepted photographers will receive their invitation by December 7, 2018. Additional dates to be determined and announced at a later date.
